Two New, Wonderful Friends

My friend Cheryl, who is an amazing friend and financial advisor, sent me two new clients this week Missy, a great mother, and her wonderful daughter, Julia. These two beautiful women are really connected in a great way.

The three of us shared a great time together in the salon doing hair, but what an experience beyond that! We danced to ‘70s music, joked, and shared some wonderful stories about family and friends. So, in the stories we were sharing, Missy said she also has a son Frankie, who has cerebral palsy.

Frankie was in a coma for 6 months because he was prescribed the wrong medicine. Frankie also suffers from Dystonia. He is home now and and attends school 3-4 times a week. Through all that he has been through in the past three years, this young man has an incredible spirit and is truly blessed.

I grew to have the utmost respect for Missy—a strong woman devoted to her children. Can you imagine walking a mile in her shoes?—Wow!

Thank you Missy and Julia, you have raised my consciousness!

Same Time, Last Year: The Hippocrates Health Institute

Last year, about this time, I scheduled myself into the Hippocrates Health Institute, because of a “life change” challenge I faced.

My doctor had just told me that I was pre-diabetic and that my cholesterol was 325. She recommended a diabetes specialist and Lipitor. But, I thought differently. I knew that neither of her suggestions could get rid of the root problem…just the symptoms. I had to dig deeper to find a solution because I intuitively knew that only I could make the systemic changes needed to improve. And, that’s when I did my own research and found the Hippocrates Health Institute.

Normally, this is a three-week program, but (being a business owner) I had only one week to spare. Nonetheless, I checked myself into their West Palm Beach facility.

It was raining cats and dogs when I got there, but the staff was energized and extremely helpful, so they barked it all away and got me set up in my room. After a wonderful night’s sleep, I embarked on their prescribed schedule for me, starting with a workout at their gym. Then, to the “wheat germ house” for a breakfast of a 2 oz. shot of wheat grass with a 16 oz. chaser consisting of celery, cucumber and sprouts.

I loved it right away, and could feel my body being energized, nourished and revitalized with the wonderful, living foods that are the mainstay of their program.

Salads. Fresh organic food. An incredible stretch of rest, air, exercise, massage, colonics and meditation. This was exactly the resetting that my bodily compass needed.

After only two weeks of sticking with the program, my cholesterol dropped to 255 and my sugar numbers went from 128 to 96. The physician at Hippocrates told me, after examination of my blood, that I was a fine specimen and in great health. Within another few weeks, I lost 20 pounds, and it seems that this is where my body likes to be.

Since, I have kept the 20 pounds off and I continue to feel great, as I continue with the lifestyle learnings of the Hippocrates Institute. It’s a steady diet of raw, organic, living foods for me!

If you are interested in getting healthy, in quiet meditation, in exercise, in a healthy eating practice, and in a thankful spirit…this will do it! Your mind and body will be thankful!
